Requesting Namespaces

Note

Only IT directors, IT leads, or Service Owners for the CESI may submit the form to request an namespace for your CESI unit.

If you are unsure of who falls under the roles above, please visit the Hosting Customer Catalog and view the the IT Director, Unit IT Lead, or Service Owner column to determine who has the appropriate access.

A Vault namespace is a feature in HashiCorp Vault that allows for secure multi-tenancy within a single Vault instance. It helps organize and isolate different tenants' resources, such as secrets engines, authentication methods, policies, entities, and groups, in a structured manner. Each CESI unit can request a namespace for their unit. If further separation within a CESI unit is needed (i.e. multiple isolated teams within a CESI unit), please consult with the DevEx team on requesting a sub-namespace.

Requesting a Namespace for your CESI Group

If you would like to request a namespace, you can do so by going to the Google Form.

Requesting a Sub-Namespace for your CESI Group

Note

This feature is only available for CESI units that have already been onboarded and have an existing namespace within Vault.

If you would like to request a sub-namespace within Vault, please go to the sub-namespace request form. We will work with you to create an additional namespace for your subteam.
